Question 4A (TOTAL 25 MARKS) As part of a truss, a single equal angle section EA75x75x6, Grade 350 with yield strength fy=340 MPa and ultimate strength f-480 MPa, is used as the diagonal member [1] as shown in Figure.4A. The gross section area of the angle is Ağ= 867 mm². It is connected by one leg only to the web of a T-section with the thickness tw=16 mm by a single line of M12 8.8/S bolts (allow 2 mm oversize holes). The design axial tension force in the diagonal member is N*= 60 kN. Details of the truss members are listed in Table 4A.
