8) Consider an A/C system design to create a hot and humid tropical climate (similar to amazon river) for certain types of plants. The figure shows the schematic diagram of the A/C to maintain a room at tropical climate. In this particular A/C system fresh air (20°C, 30% humidity) enters an adiaba- tic mixing chamber at a volumetric flow rate of 5m³/s where it is mixed with saturated return air at 30°C coming from the tropical room. The volu- metric flow rate of the return air is also 5m³/s after the mixing chamber. The air is humidified by injecting steam at 1 atm and is brought to the de- sired state (36°C, 70% relative humidity). The humidifier section can also be assumed to be adiabatic. a) Show all processes on the psychometric chart b) Determine the wet and dry bulb temperature of the air at the exit of the adiabatic mixing chamber. c) Determine the mass flow rate and tempretaure of the steam that should be injected into the humidifier section. (While finding the temperature of the steam from superheated vapor tables). Assume the steam pressure is 0.1MPa (close to 1atm) and the enthalpy of saturated steam at 600 °C and 0.1 MPa is 3704.4kJ/kg.
