A hydroelectric plant has a salient pole generator of 45 MVA,
13.8 kV, f.p. 0.8 and 20 poles. The system operator entity requires
the generating agent to deliver the reactances of the generator
from tests to allow them to continue operating. To determine the
reactances of direct axis and quadrature a series of tests were
performed as described below
: 1- ) With the generator at zero power factor, delivering 22.66
MVAr and terminal voltage of 1.04p.u. a load rejection (sudden
disconnection) was performed. After the disconnection observed that
the terminal tension reached a value of 1.5922 p.u. in permanent
regime.
2- ) Several additional load rejections were carried out,
delivering active power up to determine that when the generator
delivered 20 MW and consumed 6.1253 MVAr, at a voltage of 1 p.u.,
the internal angle was equal to the power factor angle (๐œ‘ = ๐œ“)
Neglecting the effects of saturation and armature resistance,
determine the values โ€‹โ€‹of ๐‘‹๐‘‘ ๐‘ฆ ๐‘‹๐‘ž.
