Historically, 45% of the students in the MSBA program earned their undergraduate degrees from foreign schools, 35% from schools in California and the remaining 20% from US schools outside California. 80 students were randomly selected and asked where they earned their undergraduate degrees. Below are the responses: 31 from foreign schools; 25 from CA schools, and 24 from other non-CA U.S. schools. You are now asked to conduct a test ( a = 0.05) to verify if this statement is true (Ho: p(foreign)=0.45, p(CA)=0.35, p(non- CA)=0.20). According to the above information, answer the following two questions.
Calculate the test statistic. Keep 3 decimals.
