To complete this assignment, you must do the
following:
1. Clarify which medieval figure you want to hire you--you are
hoping to work for either Abelard or Heloise.
2. Create a media pitch to highlight your client's best
qualities, and craft a PR media plan to ensure that the
twelfth-century medieval world sees them in their best
light. Are you
going to set up a traditional media interview? Curate a
social media story? As the PR expert, you choose what
you think is best.
3. Your pitch, and your media plan, must include the
following:
How does your medieval client fit into the larger context of the
twelfth century world? There were a lot of positive
events happening, does your client deserve
to be recognized as part of them? You should be citing
to our secondary source
materials in this unit.
Based on your review of the medieval client's public
statements (i.e.., their
primary source documents), are there certain statements you would
want to highlight, or downplay, when you are carefully crafting
their public image?
Why? Make sure you are giving direct evidence from our
primary sources to explain your decisions.
4. You can certainly be creative here. Are there
medieval images you want to integrate into your document as part of
your pitch? Do you want to arrange medieval speaking
engagements or interviews? With whom from the twelfth
century medieval world? And why?
