Winston Smith, the Sales Manager of an International Company
found out that his top salesperson Tom Walters was stealing from
the company. Mr. Walters had been inflating expense reports and
exaggerating his sales. He, therefore, got higher expense
reimbursements and commissions than he deserved. The accounting
department had proof that Mr. Walters was stealing. Mr. Smith does
not want to lose his best salesperson and feels that there might be
some home problems that are causing this behaviour. Mr. Smith feels
that there must be some circumstances under which he can keep Mr.
Walters.
Explain as the sales manager what would you do in the case
given. Explain ONE (1) issue that the law states when
dismissing an employee.
