In 2010, California adopted the Transparency in Supply Chains
Act. This law requires large retail sellers and manufactures to
disclose on their Web sites their "efforts to eradicate slavery and
trafficking in their direct supply chains. In 2015, the United
Kingdom included similar provisions in its Modern Slavery Act.
Suppose you were about to buy a package of shrimp that promised to
be sourced without slave labor. Would that affect your buying
decision?
