b. The isomerisation of A B was carried out adiabatically in the liquid-phase and the reaction was performed in a set of reactors. It consists of TWO (2) Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) reactors and ONE (1) Plug Flow Reactor (PFR) in series. The reactor scheme is as shown in Figure Q1. The data for this reversible reaction is given in the Table Q1. Table Q1: Raw Data X 0.0 0.2 0.4 0,6 33 0.65 20 -ra (kmol/m³.hr) 34 48 54 X₁ -0.2 X₂-0.6 V₂ X-0.65 TA Figure Q1: Reactors in series. 3 i. Derive the equations for the volume of CSTR and PFR to achieve a specified conversion, X. State all assumptions. (8 marks) ii. For an entering molar flow rate A (FAO) of *X kmol/hr, determine the volume (unit: m³) of each of the reactors (CSTR and PFR). (7 marks) (Total: 25 marks) * X is defined as the last two digits of your student ID - e.g: SUKD1501882, X would be 82 kmol/hr SUKD1500002, X would be 2 kmol/hr 63
