The essay tests your insights and in-depth understanding of
advertising theories as covered on
the module. You are required to research and review any local
advertisements for Burger King Malaysia
Part A: Dissection of the advertisement based on the Communication
Process
 Source - The individual or organization sending the
message.
 Encoding - Transferring the intended message into a symbolic
style that can be
transmitted (e.g. verbal, graphic, musical and animation)
 Channel - The transmission of the message using particular media
(personal or nonpersonal channels)
 Receiver - The individual or organization receiving the
message
 Decoding - Understanding the symbolic style of the message in
order to understand the
message
 Noise – Distortion of the communication process, making it
difficult for the receiver to
interpret the message as intended by the source
Part B: Recommendation towards improving the advertisement
You are required to analyse the advertisement chosen. Explain TWO
(2) recommendations
that may improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the
advertisement. You may support your
recommendation with the supporting details from Part A as well as
external literatures.
Supporting evidence must be provided to back up your points.

1. This is an individual assignment.

other sources are not acceptable. Appendixes are not considered as
part of the write-up
