I need help with responses to these discussions
In response to at least two of your peers, address the
following:
I made two visualizations; the first one shows the product by
month sales, each color identifying the monthly profit for that
item, and the second one shows the monthly business sales. These
charts allow me to identify my top-selling products, the
sopapillas, and queso fresco. Additionally, I was able to identify
the slow-moving product that I should discontinue and add new items
to increase profit. Regarding the monthly sales chart, I see the
potential for improvements because we still have a steady stream of
customers. I believe that if we change the low-profit products, we
can increase sales. I selected the bar cluster and bar graphs; I
feel it was the best one that represents my data. I would change a
couple of things to present my information to my audience better,
only if I knew how. It was tough for me to do this much.

Hi Class & Professor!
In this discussion, we were to take on the role of a new
restaurant owner who is checking on sales since the opening of the
restaurant in January. We were to create visualizations that
illustrate which items are selling well and how the business is
doing month by month.
For my first visualization, I used a line chart to show the
total sales for each month. I summed up the total food sales
each month and was able to show that sales are currently in a
decline with their lowest sales of the four months, $20,489.90. A
line chart was used here to visually show the decline or incline of
sales in a simple, linear model. Line charts are recommended to use
when trying to show changes over a period of time and in our
example, it was total sales over four months. I would continue to
use this line chart to track sales.
In my second chart, I used a pie chart to show which food sold
most overall, which was the restaurant’s sopapillas by a landslide.
I used a pie chart here so the audience could quickly and easily
determine which food had the biggest piece of the pie. Pie charts
are recommended when trying to show parts of a whole. This chart
might misrepresent best selling items since the item could have had
an extraordinary month because of a promotional sale or other
advertisement and then fall off the next month but it would still
show it sold best overall.
In my final chart, I used a bar graph to show the sales each
month for each food item. You can still see here that the
restaurant’s sopapillas are a high selling item, but in March queso
fresco sold more and in April guava bars sold more. A bar chart is
recommended to show changes over time and was used to reflect the
sales for each item, by the month. I thought this was a more
comprehensive representation of the sales by food item.
