Question 1 (27/27-10%) i. a) Analyze the hot- and cold-water supply system given in the figure below and answer the followings: Determine the pipe sizes required for the Branches 1 (cold) & 2 (hot) using the tabular method. You only need to briefly explain the step-by-step procedures without carrying out the actual calculations/table construction. You may provide the answer in 10 step numbers, which are applicable to both branches. ii. For calculation in Section i. what are the total loading units for the sanitary appliances and the required equivalent pipe lengths for Branches 1 & 2 calculation on the middle floor? It is intended that the second furthest WC should be 15m from the stack. The branch has a 90° bend between the last WC and the stack. Determine whether the proposed arrangement would be satisfactory. If it is not, calculate the maximum distance that could be allowed between the furthest WC and the stack. (ULO 5)
