A steam powerplant operates on an ideal reheat regenerative rankine cycle and has a net power output of 120MW. Steam enters the turbine at 10MPa and 550degC. At 0.8MPa, steam is extracted for feed water heating in an open heater and the remaining steam is reheated to 500degC prior to re entering the turbine. The steam expands in the condenser at 10kPa. Find the mass flow rate of the steam and the thermal efficiency of the cycle. Draw the cycle schematic diagram and the TS plane. note: include the condensate pump work (i.e enthalpy going and out of the condensate pump is not equal)
