Q1/ Impeller of a centrifugal compressor is designed to has 45.7 cm and 76.2 cm as the inlet and outlet diameters respectively. The compressor is joined with inlet guide vanes where air leaving the guide vanes has a velocity of 92.3 m/sec at 70° to the tangential direction. Air flows from atmosphere at pressure 1.013 bar and temperature 288 K into the compressor. Blades at the exit of the impeller are radial and the radial component of the velocity at the impeller exit is 54.1 m/sec. Impeller speed is 11,000 rpm and slip factor is 0.9. Rotor efficiency is 94% and static pressure of the impeller exit is 223 kPa. Determine (a) inlet relative Mach number (b) static temperature at the outlet of the impeller (c) stagnation pressure and temperature at the outlet of the impeller (d) rotor losses coefficient.
