Assessment topic: Enterprise Systems and Architecture (ESA) design project Task Details: Students are required to identify the core processes and design a suitable ESA "blueprint for a special industry. The assessment should include the use of appropriate framework for developing the blueprint Each student group will have two to three students. Every group should select/prepare a case study on business type such as: 1. Distribution 2. Professional services 3. Architecture 4.Engineering and Construction Student groups are required to check with their lecturer/tutor to get the topic approved to make sure there is no direct overlap between groups. Once the topic has been approved students should begin the preliminary work for the assessment. The assessment has two deliverables: Deliverable 1: Written report (2,500 words) Deliverable 2: Group Activity report To design a suitable ESA structure for the chosen organization, the students are required to identify the core business and support functions: front office and back office systems, core information entities. transactions and information flows, material and financial systems, support systems for running the systems and management, external and internal integration Each group will provide the following: 1. A group activity log on how the group has worked together to produce the final report. It should not contain the main deliverable. 2. Document group member discussion, division of responsibilities and describes how the individual efforts are capitalized on the strength of each group member. It will be used as evidence of individual contributions in the group. It is therefore in each member's interest to ensure that the contribution to the final report is complete. 3. Each group is expected to have at least 12 group meetings for the group assessment. The minutes of the group meetings should be documented and attached as appendix of this report, clearly indicating who was present, issues and actions and agreed timeline 4. The group activity must indicate that a fair distribution of work among the group members was achieved Periodic information such as emails or diary entries must be inserted into the correct section according to the chronological order.
