Molecular Weights: -Cu 63.546g/mol A rock was analyzed for its copper content. Since copper goes through redox reactions, an iodometric totration was utilized. An unknown 1.5098 g sample was acidified using 3M sulfuric acid to dissolve the Cu compounds and diluted w/ 30mL distilled water. Kl was then added resulting in l2 and Cul precipitate from Cu²+ (first reaction). I2 then reacted with excess Ki resulting in 13 (second reaction) w/c was titrated with Na2S203 (third reaction). 17.600mL of the titrant was required in the solution to reach the starch end point. Before the the sample was titrated, the titrant was standardized by taking 50mL of 6.786e-3 standard KIO3 sol'n, acidifying and adding KI crystals. 9.8mL was required for the titration of this solution to reach starch endpoint. www a. Give the concentration (M) of S₂03² titrant. b. Give the copper content of the rock (%w/w).
