Problem 2: A pretensioned beam has the tendon profile shown. The tendon consist of 6-12 mm diameter with at yield stress of 1260 MPa. The beam will carry the following loadings: Super-imposed dead load = 5 kPa Live load = 6 kPa Concrete density = 23.5 kN/cu.m 150 mm NA -6 m- 12 m -4m- 1. Calculate the stress at the top and bottom fiber of the beam at midspan of unsupported length if e-300 mm due to prestressing force only. 2. Calculate the stress at the top and bottom of the beam at B if e=100 mm after the applications of loads. 3. Calculate the top and bottom fiber stress at midspan section if e-300 mm after applications of loads. Tendon Profile 500 mm 400 mm b= 1200mm 0.0.. 400mm = 250mm bw
