The pulley, as shown in figure B1, is centralised on a shaft that is supported by self-aligning bearings. The shaft deflects by 0.5 mm due to the weight of the pulley. The shaft has a distributed weight of 20 N/m and the flexural stiffness is 1500 Nm².
