Use the PICTURE BELOW and REDRAW(free body diagram) AND ADD
HEIGHT ETC and CREATE A PROBLEM FROM THE BOTTLE
FOUNTAIN AND SOLVE IT COMPLETELY using the conservation potential
energy and information below, explain each step to solving the
problem.
Introduction-The potiential energy is the energy possessed by
the system by the virtue of its height in a system .The water in
this project is to be delievered to the straw besides the straw
wheel which is installed at a height above the top horizontal
botttle attached.The universal law of gravitation will allow the
fall of the water from the top bottle to the bottom bottle which is
lifted to be passed through the other end connection of strawa via
the connection of straws in the left side bottle supporting the top
bottle .When this water flows flows above and works against the
gravity,potiential energy will be genearated and the straw wheel
will rotate at the top.
Explaination-
Hence the universal law of gravitational law is dependent on the
length of the straw .
Now the water is to be delieverd to a height above h above the
bottle.If the accelartion due to gravity is g(9.81metre persecond
square) and the mass flow of water is constant m (say) then the
potiential work will do the workmagainst the gravity work and the
PE is given by
PE=mgh(in general)
assuming the height of the nozzle of the fountain is H above the
upper bottom.The total potiential energy casn be given as
PE=mg(h+H) where the water deleieverd will rotate the straw at
the upper end.
hence,the water will flow firstly by the gravitational effect
amnf then this gravitational energy will be converted to the
potiential or the position work .
