A group of curious students designed a chimeric protein, which contains an ER signal sequence at its N-terminal region, a nuclear localization signal in the middle and a GFP (green fluorescent protein) at its C-terminal end. They generated an expression plasmid and then transfected the plasmid into cultured cells. Using a fluorescence microscope, where do you think this GFP-fusion protein is likely to be found at the normal condition?
