In 2019 a population of ferns was newly discovered in the Killarney National Park, Ireland. Six plants, one of them fully mature and displaying sporangia, were found to be growing at the base of a rockface, in the humid air above a stream. Named the Kerry Mousetail Fern, this pteridophyte was previously found only in the tropical cloud forests of the Caribbean Based on the information about this new species, you could infer that O a tiny fern seeds arrived in Ireland through human intervention or abiotic vectors O b. vasculature in the fern gametophyte would facilitate transport of nutrients and water to various tissues O c. microspores produced by the fully mature plant specimen would be dispersed by the wind Od the six plants that were first spotted were fern sporophytes and not gametophytes
