Question no-01 a. An investigator wants to estimate the mean blood density in children with congenital heart deformity. The investigator plans on using a 5 % significance level with a 20% type 2 error and wants mean difference of 5 units in either way. The standard deviation of blood density is assumed to be 20. How many children should be enrolled in the study? [4 marks) b. From the above sample size calculation, the sample you have got now assume the mean blood density is 250 mg/dl and the standard deviation of blood density is assumed to be 20. Use this mean, calculated sample size and standard deviation to find the 95% confidence interval. Also interpret the 95% confidence interval. [6 marks]
