Two pipes are connected in parallel between two open air water
tanks. Pipe 1 has a length of 2400 m with a diameter of 1.2 m while
pipe 2 of equivalent length has a diameter of 1 m. Both pipes are
made of different materials, hence have friction factors of 0.026
and 0.019 for pipe 1 and 2 respectively. If the difference in the
height of the reservoirs is 3.5 m, calculate the total volume
flowrate between both water tanks.
