On the simply supported beam which is shown below, a triangular
distributed load is applied.
Calculate the equation of the internal shear force Q, at a
randomly chosen position x in the beam.
To solve the problem, consider the following relations and
conditions:
• 𝑞𝑥 = 𝑥𝑞, with 𝑞𝑥 being the triangular
distributed load at a random position x of

the beam, L the length of the beam
and q constant.
According to strength of materials: 𝑑𝑄 = −𝑞𝑥,
with Q being the internal shear

At point A of the beam (x=0), the internal shear force is given
