Determine the differential heighth of the mercury column (CO2:PO2 - 5 Marks) wall water gate B i. Figure Q2(b) b. The water gate AB in Figure 2(b) is a quarter circle with radius r= 5m and 2m wide. The distance of the gate from the water surface is given by h. The gate is hinged at point B. Find the force FR and its line of action, just sufficient to keep the gate from opening, given h = 2m (CO2:P02 - 12 Marks) If a similar water gate with the same dimensions as above, is being designed for a new reservoir, but to hold more volume of water (h = 5m), calculate Fr just sufficient to keep the gate from opening.
