I also need a written explanation for this.
Air at P1 - 50 kPa, Ti = 250 K enters a duct of diameter D = 10 cm at My. 2 # tet M q (kJ/kg) 100, 200, 300, 1 ? Assuming ṁ = 4.3367 kg/s, write a program to find out and plot a) M1 vs q b) M2 vs a c) m vs a Hint: i) M2 can at most be 1.0. ii) When q < q*, M2 >1.0 depending on q, ṁ remains same. iii) If heat supplied q > q*, then there may be shocks inside the duct, keeping í same. That is, there may be flow from inlet to a portion inside duct with heat addition qı, then a shock occurs inside the duct, and the rest of the flow is subsonic with heat addition 92. Total q 91 +92 iv) If case (iii) is not possible, i.e. q cannot match qı + 92, or, the total heat added in the duct exceeds any shock that fits inside the duct, then ṁ would be changed at inlet.
