DESIGN OF BELT. I RECOMMEND USING FAIRES' DESIGN OF MACHINE ELEMENTS FOR SELECTING A MATERIAL AND FOR TABLES OF SPECIFICATION. YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN ASSUMPTIONS. There is a river three and a half meter wide, 30 mm deep, with flow velocity of about two meters per second. The river has a gradient of 0.5. You got a 5 kW rated generator that must run at constant 1800 rpm. Design the belt for the job, the key, shaft, pulley, and the hub. Use standard sizes.
