A room with the internal dimensions of 25 (m) length * 25 (m) width * 3 (m) height is to be artificially lit by luminaires mounted at ceiling level. This room required the illuminance of 400 (lx) on the working planes 0.5 (m) above the floor. The 100 (W) tubular florescent lamps with initial luminous efficacy of 79 (lm/W) and basic downward Light Output Ratio (LOR) of 50% are selected to provide the required artificial light. Florescent lamps are placed in recessed louver through luminaires with optically design reflecting surfaces. The reflectance of ceiling is 0.5 (-) and the reflectance of walls is equal to 0.3 (-); the light loss factor is 0.8 (-).
