you supervise a team of 10 employees. Your manager has
pilled you aside because other teams have commented on your team
attitude and performance issue. 4 of the 10 employee you supervised
(Mary, John, Lita, and Joachim) are causing tension on the team.
Mary and John have very different background and often do not see
eye to eye. Mary, even tends to roll her eyes and snap at
john. In retaliation , john often ignores Mary, even about
important work related things. Lita doesn't want to take sides and
do not support either Mary or Johns behavior. Instead of dealing
with them, Lita, who is new, keep going to other team member
to help her with parts of her job that she do not understand. Mary
and John were assigned to help answer Lita questions, and the fact
that she is avoiding them and going to other overload team member
is causing ill will. Joachim keeps to himself. he likes to show up
for work, get the job done on his own, and leave for the day right
at quitting time. He feels work is for work and not to make
friends. Joachim cultural background, up bringing , personality ,
or other factors may be driving his perspective about his role on
the team. some other team member do not feel as though they can
trust him. As a manger of the team, you will need to write a report
for your boss that reflect how element of your performance
management system can get the team on the right track for
performance excellence. In your report, identify the problematic
issues, examine strategies to use, and needed coaching , and
present your recommendation.
