Breckenridge, Inc. is a for-profit corporation (C
corporation) that does business in all 50 states. Breckenridge is
incorporated in Nevada and maintains a corporate headquarters in
Arizona. Breckenridge conducts a majority of their business
in Illinois. Sam Austin, a resident of Illinois, purchased a new
golf cart from Breckenridge. While driving the cart in Illinois,
Sam made a sharp turn on hilly midwest terrain, and the cart
flipped over, injuring Sam, the driver, and Shaila, his wife, as a
passenger. San and Shaila are considering filing a legal claim
against Breckenridge for damages sustained in the accident. They
allege that the cart was defective as manufactured, and no one
warned them about the possibility of injury while making sharp
turns. Sam's injuries include a herniated disc that may require
surgery. Shaila has had headaches, dizziness, and memory loss after
striking her head in the accident. Sam, age 45, is a homemaker, and
Shaila, age 39, is a Certified Public Accountant earning $150,000
per year. Nevada and Arizona provide defenses to personal injury
claims based on pure comparative fault. Illinois provides a defense
to personal injury claims based on contributory fault. Please
