Question 1 (8 marks) Read the case study below and answer the questions that follow: Alpha Games owns and operates a subscription platform for online games. For a monthly fee, people can gain access to play online. It is also possible to purchase items within the games. Alpha also sells gaming consoles and virtual reality (VR) headsets for use with its games. With an increase in people working from home, they have more time to spend on leisure. Government is concerned about the potential impact of people spending too much time online and has introduced draft policies to manage the time that people may spend online. Furthermore, it recently passed a new "right to repair bill, which requires that manufacturers should allow end users to repair their own devices. The batteries in Alpha's VR headsets are not user replaceable. Alpha's VR headsets are manufactured in China, and the Chinese Yuan appreciated against the local currency. While several of Alpha's tities are popular, it has not released any new games in the last year. Their largest competitor has been investing heavily in new games. Alpha introduced a trade-in program whereby users can trade in their old gaming consoles and receive a discount on new consoles. All old consoles are carefully recycled.
