you are a member of an interdisciplinary team that is working within a community that has declined. (you decide whether this is an urban inner city such as Detroit, or rural small town that has lost the only big factory employer,or similar).You will work with others on a team to address issues in the community and determine first,what the needs of the community are.Second,how can education address the needs of the community. And third,you will develop an educational program to address one or more needs of the community. If your team is made up of different health science professionals, your educational program should align with your specialties.Therefore,you will each need to determine your specialty. This might be an environmental specialist,community health worker,health educator,medical Healthcare worker,food inspector, etc.Together you will then decide on the community where you will work.
For this project you will create:
1)A thorough description of the community and a needs assessment of the community.
2) A description of educational needs of the community based on health science specialties identified by each team member.
3) An education program that addresses the community needs.This should include at a minimum:
1. description of the educational program that addresses national health standards as they relate to the community selected.
2.program and lesson objectives
3.Materials for the lessons including technology
4.detailed interactive lessons that use effective health education strategies
5.effective communication and marketing plan to inform the public of education program.
