Hi there, I have enrolled in an elective course and have a case
study needs some help.
CASE STUDY
Amy is a 35-year-old busy mum of two daughters, aged 5 and 7
years, living in an inner-city Melbourne suburb. She works 5 days a
week while her children are at school. Her daughters participate in
sport after school, so dinners feel rushed on school nights. Amy is
responsible for food shopping and cooking in her family. She shops
once per week and tries to cook dinner 3-4 times a week. She orders
takeaway dinners on the other nights. The family eats dinner
together every day. Amy finds it difficult to find time for
exercise. She works in an office and sits for much of the day while
she is at work. She goes for a 30-minute walk with a friend twice a
week. Her BMI is 26.0kg/m2 and her waist circumference
is 85cm. Amy is a bit self-conscious about her body. She knows that
healthy eating is important and is trying her best to have a
healthy diet, but she sometimes snacks on sweet foods or
confectionary when she feels particularly tired.
A typical day for Amy would include:
Number of serves from the five food groups in a typical day:
Question
1. What are three
dietary changes this person could make to improve the alignment of
their diet with the EAT-Lancet Planetary Health Diet? (2) Include
specific food examples in your
response. (200 words)
2. What are two
potential challenges or barriers that might make it difficult for
this person to make the dietary changes suggested in Questions 2a
and 2b? Provide specific examples and at least one
peer-reviewed journal article to support your answer. (200
words)
