For a blue solution Cu + 4Br --> <-- CuBr4
a professor added a few drops of KBr(aq) and the solution became
pink. (Cu is blue, CuBr4 is pink)
i) Before adding drops of KBr(aq), how does the concentration of
Cu compare to CUBr4?
ii) Why did the solution turn pink, and how does it re-achieve
dynamic equilibrium.
iii) Draw a detailed concentration vs. time graph for all the
ions (Cu, 4Br, CuBr4) that shows 1) the system at equilibrium
before adding KBr(aq), 2)the instantaneous addition of KBr(aq) 3)
the change of the reaction/system from the addition of KBr(aq).
Please answer especially iii
