to determine the partial pressure of hydrogen gas in the mixture of gases in the eudiometer: Ptotal = Pbarometric = PH2 + PH2O + Piquid column = = Both Hai and H20 are present because the gas was collected through an aqueous solution. Using the appendix nyour lab manual, determine the vapor pressure of water at the temperature of your water in the beaker (Note: cu may need to interpolate the value by taking the average of two values! The Piquid column must be converted to ir mHg using the density ratio of water : mercury which is 1.05/13.6. Multiply this ratio by the liquid height in millimeters (see sample problem in discussion). Now solve for the partial pressure of Hz. - PH2 = Pbarometric - PH2o - Piquid column
