OPTIONAL PROBLEM (25 points) In the figure below, a light ray in air enters a glass slab of width 20 cm at point A, the midpoint of the top surface. The glass slab is 40 cm tall, and the index of refraction of the glass is 1.50. Find the location (i.e. specify the distance from some corner of the glass) where the light ray exits the glass slab, and the final direction of the light ray. Make a reasonable sketch of the path of the light ray. It does NOT have to be to scale. | 45° A NOTE: THE FIGURE SHOWN HERE IS NOT TO SCALE, SO DRAWING THE RAYS ON THIS FIGURE WILL NOT GIVE THE SAME NUMERICAL ANSWERS AS DOING THE CALCULATIONS. THAT'S OK - YOUR DRAWING DOES NOT HAVE TO BE TO SCALE. - 40 cm n=1.5 20 cm
