Data for 50 U.S. “states” was used to examine the relationship between violent crime rate (violent crimes per 100,000 persons per year) and the independent variables of urbanization (percentage of the population living in urban areas) and poverty rate. A 50 observations were examined. The Excel sheet output for the analysis of this data is shown in the Figure. SUMMARY OUTPUT Regression Statistics Multiple R 0.837 R Square 0.700 Adjusted R Square 0.69 Standard Error 8.54 Observations 50 ANOVA MS df 2 F 54.9 Significance F 0.000 1030 Regression Residual Total SS 2060 882 2942 47 18.77 49 t Stat 2.91 Coefficients Standard Error P-value Во 31.9 148.2 -2.17 0.035 B1 (urbanization) -4.6 1.654 2.83 0.007 B2 (Poverity) 39.3 13.52 0.006 Answer the following questions: (note: you should show step by step procedures) a) Test for significance of all regression parameters using a = 0.01: b) If you know that in 2020 the percentage of urbanization was 0.5, while no poverty recorded, what would be the rate of violent crimes (per 100,000 persons per year) that year?
