A cylinder with a piston contains 1.5 moles of an ideal
monoatomic gas with a pressure of 7.0 · 105 Pa and a temperature of
300 Kelvin.
- This gas doubles in volume in an isobaric process. What is the
work which is made by the gas during this process?
- This gas doubles in volume in an isothermal process. What is
the work which is made by the gas during this process?
- We have 0.250 mol of an ideal diatomic gas that carries one
Carnot cycle between temperatures TH = 500 K and TL = 390 K. The
cycle is as follows:
a → b: The gas expands isothermally
b → c: The gas expands adiabatically
c → d: Gases are compressed isothermally
d → a: The gas is compressed adiabatically
I think this was a difficult task, and struggled to get to the
finish line. There are a number of such tasks and I need to know
how to do it.
