Mr Lui, 65-year-old, was admitted to the hospital for incision and drainage (I & D) for his right buttock abscess. A wound nurse assessed Mr Lui's incision site the day after the procedure. She found that the depth of the wound was 1 cm, the width was 2 cm, and the length was 3 cm. There was no tunnelling and undermining. The old dressing was fully soaked by serous fluid mixed with blood, and the wound bed was dark red in colour. After the wound assessment, the wound nurse performed wound dressing and packing. One saline-moistened non-woven gauze was packed into the wound and covered by 2 pieces of dry gauzes. You were assigned to perform wound dressing and packing for Mr Lui's incision site the next day. a.
