A steel floor girder in an existing building needs to be strengthened by welding a structural member to its bottom lange. The steel grade is unknown and to determine its weldability, material testing has revealed the following percentages by weight of the alloy chemicals in the girder: C = 0.25% Cr= 0.15% Cu = 0.25% Mn = 0.45% Mo = 0.12% Ni = 0.30% V = 0,12% Si = 0.20% Calculate the carbon equivalent (CE) and determine if this steel is weldable.
