Stratigraphers are tasked with the definition and management of the geologic time scale. The concept of a time interval marking the rise of human influence upon the planet is a new concept that is still being debated among stratigraphers. Put what you have learned this semester about stratigraphy along with the information presented in this chapter. Do you support the formal recognition of an Anthropocene epoch within the geologic time scale?
