A male patient comes in with a persistent cough. The patient reports no major medical issues. Some lab tests were done. When the doctor looked over the test results, the doctor became concerned when the test results saw that the percentage of the white blood cells that were CD4+ T lymphocytes was low: only 12%. The doctor was concerned because this result could indicate that this individual has Infectious mononucleosis Septicemia Malaria Acute endocarditis Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS)
