Whales/dolphins evolved from hoofed land mammals. During
evolution, the forelimb was converted to a flipper and the hindlimb
was lost.
Interdidgit apoptosis was prevented. BMP causes apoptosis
between the digits. What cis regulatory changes would prevent loss
of skin between the digits?
