1. The gene sequence of CNTNAP2 is identical between chimpanzees
and humans. What does this suggest about the importance of FOXP2,
and transcription factors in general, in achieving evolutionary
differences?
2. It is often said that chimpanzees and humans share 99.8% of
their genome. Given this minor difference, you would think that
chimps and humans were nearly identical. They are not, of course,
so wherein lies the actual difference?
