Controlling water balance
When there is too little water in the body, a sequence of events occurs. The lack of water is detected by the hypothalamus which produces ADH (antidiuretic hormone). More ADH is released into the blood by the pituitary gland. As a response to ADH, kidneys reabsorb more water which will reduce the amount of urine produced. As a result, blood water level won’t reduce further.
1- What is a hormone? (1pt)
2- Draw a diagram explaining how water balance is maintained. (3pts)
3- What kind of feedback is represented in this example? (1pt)
4- In your opinion what will happen when the water balance is restored? (2pts)
PLEASE ANSWER ALL OF THE 4 QUESTIONS CORRECTLY
