In a laboratory, a group of scientists is working on plants. They are interested in enhancing the growth of a variety of Tomatoes. They decide to focus on one rhizobacteria known to be beneficial for many plants. Unfortunately, this rhizobacteria does not affect/interact with tomato plants naturally. After several months of work, they finally succeeded. To do so, they induced a mutation in a gene responsible for a polysaccharide synthesis.
