An object that is denser than water is attached to a flexible
balloon inflated with air that holds the object at a constant depth
of 5 m below the surface of a lake. A diver pushes the balloon down
by 1 m. What happens to the balloon after the diver releases it at
this new depth? The answer is that the balloon sinks to the bottom
of the lake, but I'm not sure why.
