A cable is attached to the upper end of the beam at one end and to a vertical wall at the other end. The cable and the beam form a right angle (as shown in the figure). The upper end of the beam is a vertical height H above the horizontal surface. The beam is in equilibrium; it does not slip on the horizontal surface due to the static friction force between the surface and the beam.
