Hydrogen (H2) in the acidic solution is produced by bonding two
hydrogen atoms adsorbed on the surface of the metal electrode as
follows.
Here, M(s) is a metal atom on the electrode surface, and
M-H(surface) is an adsorbed hydrogen atom. Make sure that the speed
determination step is repeated twice (ν=2).
