The stripping tray tower must process the liquád mixture containing (8% ammonia by mass, at a feed rate of 100 kg/min. A downstream unit receiving the liquid effluent of the desorber demands that the water delivered to it must not exceed 1% ammonia by mass. Fresh steam (B) is used as the inert stripping gas at a rate of 10% more than the minimum steam rate in kg/min. The ammonia in water equilibrium is given by y* = 1.7x".
