(a) Briefly explain Hinkle's correlation. (5 marks) (b) In Ashiteru manufacturing plant, the pneumatic transport system will be used to carry 28.97 kg/hr of polyolefin elastomer powder (particle density 17.03 kg/m) using nitrogen gas (gas density 39.95 kg/m, viscosity 44.01 10Pa.s) with particle diameter and pipe diameter of 159.81 um and 58.12 mm, respectively. Calculate (0) the gas velocity of the polyolefin elastomer powder. (10 marks) ( (ii) the gas friction factor between the vessels. (10 marks)
